Gibson stays put, doesn’t attend son’s graduation

Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson opted to stay in the dugout and manage his team instead of flying home to attend his son Cameron’s graduation from Gross Pointe South High in Michigan last week.
“You’re supposed to graduate,” he told reporters after the game. “His mom and the rest of the family will be there. He’s coming to see me next week.”
Cameron was selected by the Diamonbacks in the 38th round of this year’s MLB Draft and has an offer to play at Michigan State, his father’s alma mater.
