Wally the Green Monster suit stolen from Fenway Park

Now the Red Sox have hit rock bottom.

Beantown is in a frenzy this afternoon, but not because their baseball team is wasting away at the bottom of the American League East. According to multiple reports, the costume of the Red Sox mascot, Wally the Green Monster, has been stolen from Fenway.

Boston PD said the assailant was seen wearing the suit walking around Boston, but no further reports have been released.

While theft is never funny, we dare you to read the following sentence and not have a good chuckle:

Apparently Wally, the kind-hearted Red Sox cheermaster, has seen enough this season. All joking aside, we hope that Wally is quickly returned to his home on Yawkey Way and is unharmed.
