Could Clemens pitch for Rangers this year?

It’s not too far fetched considering Roger Clemens is throwing at all at this point of his life. Now 50, Clemens has been the talk of speculation that he’ll be back in the big leagues before the end of the regular season next month.

The floundering Astros are the frontrunner since he loves a stone’s throw from the team, but the other team in Texas - the mighty Rangers - could always throw their name into the hat if they like what they see.

“I think obviously things will be dictated by how he recovers and if he feels he can go out there and continue throwing and if he can build up some stamina,” Rangers CEO Nolan Ryan told the Galloway and Company show on ESPN 103.3 FM in Dallas, as originally reported by the Houston Chronicle. “I think we just have to stay tuned. I might call him, but I don’t think I’ll be calling him about a job.”
