Reds fan grabs two HR balls

Fans have been popping up with interesting foul ball and home run catches all season so far and it’s only May. Caleb Lloyd did something extra special from his outfield seats in Cincinnati Monday night, catching back-to-back home run balls.

Lloyd, 20, was in the right place at the right time on both occasions, catching balls that were hit by Mike Leake and Zack Cozart. He was later asked to join the Reds’ television broadcasters in the booth.

“I was blessed to catch both of them,” he said. “I couldn’t believe. Right now, I can’t believe it’s happened. It’s some kind of dream.”

Young fan stays asleep after HR madness

Some days it’s easy to stay asleep during a commotion, other times you just want to throw your pillow, slam a door, punch a wall and get back to bed already.

Picture this: you’re a little kid, lying in your father’s arms at a baseball game when a home run ball comes soaring out of the sky near your head, the crowd erupts and fireworks are ignited. The catch … you stay asleep.

That’s exactly what happened to a young fan in Cincinnati Thursday afternoon after Jay Bruce hit a home run off the Giants.

Unfortunately the father did not catch the ball to have a souvenir, but he also didn’t drop his daughter, so we’ll give him a gold glove nod for the day anyway.

Fan makes one-handed grab

It’s not often you find a fan who can make a gold glove type play in the stands, only he wore no glove at all.

A gentleman at the Reds-Giants game on Wednesday night snagged a line drive off the bat of Buster Posey with cat-like reflexes.

I barely played minor league ball and the closest I ever came to making a play like that was catching the soap in the shower before it hit the ground.
